Itinerary

Day 1: Dar es Salaam – Mikumi National Park

Your safari begins with an early morning pickup (6:00 AM) from your hotel or residence in Dar es Salaam. Settle into your comfortable safari vehicle as you journey westward toward Mikumi National Park (approx. 4 hours). A packed lunch will be provided en route.

Upon arrival at the park gate, you will immediately begin your afternoon game drive. Traverse the expansive Mkata Floodplain, the heart of the park, known for its excellent visibility and high concentration of wildlife. Keep your camera ready for sightings of Lions lounging in the grass, large herds of Buffalos, and elegant Giraffes grazing against the backdrop of the Uluguru Mountains.

As the sun begins to set, you will check in to the Mikumi Cottage (or similar) for a delicious dinner and a well-deserved overnight rest, fully immersed in the sounds of the African bush.

Accommodation: Mikumi Cottage (or similar mid-range accommodation).

Day 2: Full Day Game Drive & Return to Dar es Salaam

Wake up early to the sights and sounds of the savanna. Following a hearty breakfast and with a packed lunch in hand, you will depart the lodge for a full day of exploration within Mikumi National Park.

This extended game drive allows you to venture deeper into the park, seeking out wildlife in different ecosystems. You may choose to participate in an optional walking safari (additional cost, paid directly to the park), accompanied by an armed ranger. This thrilling experience offers a unique, intimate perspective of the wilderness on foot.

After your morning activities and a picnic lunch break within the park, you will enjoy a final game drive as you slowly make your way towards the park exit. In the late afternoon, you will commence the return drive to Dar es Salaam, where you will be dropped off at your hotel or the airport, concluding your unforgettable Tanzanian safari.
